JOB ROLE: Wind O&M Manager – O&M for 100 MW Jath Sangli District MH
TEAM: Asset Management
REPORTS TO: General Manager
DIRECT REPORTS: Yes maybe, O&M Contractor

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Generation Performance & Management
    1. Drive plant performance to achieve target CUF, availability, and revenue realization.
    2. Monitor WTG performance against wind resource and power curve benchmarks.
    3. Conduct detailed loss analysis (machine downtime, grid, wake losses).
    4. Identify underperforming turbines and ensure corrective actions with OEM.
  • OEM & O&M Contract Governance
    1. Manage and monitor Suzlon O&M contract (LTSA) performance.
    2. Ensure adherence to SLA/KPI commitments, availability guarantees, and penalties/incentives.
    3. Review breakdown reports, RCA, and ensure effective CAPA implementation.
    4. Validate invoices, spares usage, and contractual obligations.
  • BOP & Substation (PSS) Management
    1. Ensure high availability of 33/66 kV network, pooling substation, transformers, and switchgear.
    2. Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance.
    3. Ensure optimal functioning of SCADA, protection systems, and auxiliaries.
  • 220 kV EHV Line & Grid Interface
    1. Ensure reliable operation of 220 kV transmission line and grid bay.
    2. Coordinate with SLDC/STU/CTU for shutdowns, grid compliance, and scheduling.
    3. Ensure periodic inspection, patrol, and testing of EHV assets.
    4. Maintain compliance with CEIG and statutory inspections.
  • Grid Compliance & Energy Management
    1. Ensure compliance with grid codes, DSM, forecasting & scheduling regulations.
    2. Monitor reactive power, voltage profile, and power factor.
    3. Oversee ABT metering, energy accounting, JMR, and billing validation.
  • Safety & Regulatory Compliance
    1. Drive HSE excellence and ensure zero harm culture.
    2. Enforce PTW, LOTO, and electrical safety protocols.
    3. Ensure compliance with statutory, CEIG, and electrical inspectorate norms.
    4. Conduct safety audits, training, and emergency response drills.
  • Maintenance Strategy & Reliability
    1. Develop Annual Maintenance Plan (AMP) for WTG, BOP, and EHV systems.
    2. Implement condition monitoring and predictive maintenance techniques.
    3. Drive reliability improvement initiatives (MTBF, MTTR reduction).
    4. Ensure availability of critical spares and optimize inventory.
  • SCADA, Data Analytics & Reporting
    1. Monitor real-time plant performance through SCADA systems.
    2. Prepare and review daily, monthly, and annual performance reports.
    3. Track KPIs: Availability, CUF, downtime, grid losses, line losses.
    4. Use analytics for continuous performance improvement.
  • Commercial & Stakeholder Management
    1. Ensure timely energy invoicing, reconciliation, and revenue realization.
    2. Coordinate with internal stakeholders, investors, regulators, and DISCOMs.
    3. Support budgeting, cost control, and O&M cost optimization.
    4. Manage site-level vendors and contracts. Aiming to exceed desired plant uptime and Performance Ratio.
    5. Conducting annual testing and calibration of the Relay and Protection System.
  • Team Leadership & Site Administration
    1. Lead and manage site team (engineers, technicians, contractors).
    2. Ensure training, skill development, and performance management.
    3. Oversee site administration including security, logistics, and compliance records.
  • Asset Lifecycle & Warranty Management
    1. Manage project handover/takeover and punch point closure.
    2. Track and enforce warranty claims with OEM.
    3. Maintain complete documentation: as-built drawings, test reports, approvals.
  • Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
    1. Identify risks related to wind variability, grid outages, equipment failure.
    2. Implement mitigation strategies and contingency planning.
    3. Drive continuous improvement / Kaizen initiatives.
  • Risk Management
    Responsible for identifying potential risks to solar asset performance and develop strategies to mitigate these risks. This also includes monitoring equipment performance for signs of failure, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and implementing security measures to protect data and assets.
  • Stakeholder Communication
    Responsible to communicate with various stakeholders, including asset owners, investors, regulatory agencies, and internal teams, to provide updates on asset performance, address concerns, and coordinate activities.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Oversight
    Responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and timely vendor payments for all the plants.
  • Preventive Maintenance & CAPA
    Responsible for performing preventive maintenance on time, conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for breakdowns. Overseeing periodic inspection and certification from CEIG, maintaining required license and calibration of ABT Meters etc.
  • Spare Planning
    Tasked with forecasting and organizing spare planning to preempt unexpected demands, ensuring prompt allocation of spares, and collaborating with stakeholders to mitigate disruptions and enhance operational efficiency.

EDUCTION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Education – B.E./B. Tech in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience – 8–12 years in Wind O&M (minimum 3–5 years in leadership role), Strong experience in WTG operations (preferably Suzlon machines), Hands-on experience in EHV systems (132 kV / 220 kV), Knowledge of grid compliance, SCADA, and forecasting regulations, CEIG / Electrical Supervisor License preferred.
