JOB ROLE: Manager
TEAM: Founders’ Office
REPORTS TO: GM – Founder Office
DIRECT REPORTS: NA

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Overall role
    1. This is the strategy desk of the Founder’s Office. You own the house view on where the market, the regulations, the technology and our competitors are heading, and you turn that view into three kinds of output: strategic analysis for leadership and the Board, peer and capital markets analysis for Investor Relations, and the presentations, talking points and papers our founders carry into investor meetings and onto industry stages.
    2. You will work directly with the Lead – Founder’s Office & Investor Relations, with access to department heads across Finance, Projects, Customer Operations and SCM for the data behind your analysis. Your work reaches the CEO, the Board and the public record — it needs to be right.
  • Strategy & Market Intelligence
    1. Own and maintain the house view on the Indian power and renewables market — demand trends, module and equipment pricing, PPA and merchant tariff movements, and the shift toward firm, dispatchable products — kept current enough that a founder can quote it in a meeting tomorrow.
    2. Track regulatory developments across the states and markets we operate in — open access rules, tariff orders, ISTS charges, RPO obligations, storage and FDRE frameworks — and translate each change into what it means for our strategy and our project economics, with a recommendation rather than only a summary.
    3. Analyse competitor strategy: where peers are building, what they are bidding, how they are structuring and financing their solutions, and where their positioning differs from ours — and say what we should do about it.
    4. Monitor technology developments across generation, storage, grid and digital systems. Identify specific advances Sunsure could deploy, with a clear view of the opportunity and the effort involved.
    5. Provide analytical inputs to bid strategy, PPA structuring and market-entry decisions, and support the annual strategy refresh, including the screening of adjacencies and partnerships.
    6. Prepare periodic intelligence reports for the leadership team, and a quarterly board paper that gives directors a clear read on where the market is moving and what it means for us.
  • Investor Relations & Capital Markets
    1. Build and maintain the peer benchmarking pack covering listed and private renewable IPPs: capacity and pipeline, generation performance, tariffs, EBITDA margins, leverage, cost of debt and valuation multiples such as EV/EBITDA and EV/MW.
    2. Track and analyse equity raises across the sector — public market issuances including IPOs, QIPs and InvIT structures, alongside private placements and growth equity rounds. Capture deal size, structure, valuation, terms and use of proceeds.
    3. Prepare investor updates, data packs and presentation material, and support diligence requests with clean, well-sourced analysis.
  • Thought Leadership & External Positioning
    1. Turn the house view into the material our founders present: keynote decks, panel preparation, talking points and briefing notes for media, analyst and investor interactions.
    2. Build and maintain the narrative library — the data, charts and proof points behind Sunsure’s positioning on firm, dispatchable power — so every external appearance tells one consistent story.
    3. Maintain the industry events calendar and recommend where the founders should speak, on what, and with which message.
    4. Draft industry point-of-view papers and articles for founder bylines, from first outline to publication-ready copy.
NON-NEGOTIABLE TECHNICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Strong financial fundamentals
You read financial statements comfortably, build comparable-company analysis and work fluently with valuation multiples. Advanced Excel is assumed.
  • Excellent spoken & written communication
Excellent spoken & written communication and genuine deck craft. You can brief a department head, a leadership team and a board with the same rigour, adjusting the depth — and your slides and talking points are good enough to go out under a founder’s name.
  • Com fort with data
Comfort with data tools such as Power BI, and the judgement to question a number before publishing it.
  • Stakeholder management
The confidence to cross-question senior stakeholders respectfully until a requirement or a data point is genuinely clear, and complete discretion with confidential financial information. You form a view. You have taken a broad, ambiguous question and produced a defensible, well-sourced answer with a recommendation — without being handed the sources.
PERSONA/ BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES
  • Judgment & Prioritization Under Ambiguity
Exercises strong independent judgment to interpret incomplete or evolving requests, accurately prioritize competing demands, and determine what requires the CEO’s direct attention versus what can be resolved independently.
  • Composure Under Pressure
Remains calm, solutions-focused, and effective when managing last-minute changes, competing deadlines, or high-pressure situations, without compromising quality or judgment.
  • Proactive Ownership (vs. Task-Taking)
Anticipates needs and potential issues ahead of time and takes ownership of resolving them efficiently and independently.
  • Other skills
    1. Familiarity with the Indian power and renewables regulatory landscape.
    2. Experience preparing board or investment committee material.
    3. Published or public-facing work — research notes, bylined articles, conference material.
    4. CFA progression. We sponsor relevant certifications.
Interview Process
  • Round 1
    Screening by TA team member
  • Round 2
Interview with GM – Founders’ Office
  • Round 3

  • Round 4

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Education – MBA, CA, CFA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred. Strong candidates with a bachelor’s degree and demonstrated analytical experience are considered on merit.
  • Experience (PQE) – 4-7yrs of relevant experience in strategy consulting, equity research, corporate strategy, investment banking, private equity or a comparable analytical role. Exposure to energy, infrastructure or project finance is strongly preferred.
