Bijapur project expands Sunsure’s wind footprint to power industrial decarbonization through the ISTS network
New Delhi, May 22, 2026: Sunsure Energy, India’s preferred Round-the-Clock (RTC) renewable energy solutions provider for leading businesses and utilities, has placed a 195 MW repeat wind order with the Suzlon Group for a project in Karnataka’s Bijapur district. The order marks a significant scale-up of Sunsure’s wind capacity as the company accelerates its RTC platform to serve India’s fastest-growing clean-power demand segments. The project will help Sunsure deliver power anywhere in the country through the Inter State Transmission System (ISTS) network of the national grid.
Under the agreement, Suzlon will install 65 of its state-of-the-art S144 wind turbine generators, each rated at 3.0 MW, and execute end-to-end supply, erection, and commissioning of the project. The Bijapur project builds upon existing 100.8 MW wind project already under execution by Suzlon in Maharashtra’s Jath region and takes Sunsure’s cumulative wind partnership with Suzlon to nearly 300 MW across Maharashtra and Karnataka.
Sunsure’s RTC strategy is built around blending solar, wind, and battery storage under long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) that can offset up to 100% of a customer’s power use with round-the-clock clean energy. Wind capacity across Maharashtra’s Jath and Karnataka’s Bijapur — two of India’s most productive and complementary wind corridors — gives Sunsure high-availability green power to large industrial customers, hyperscalers, AI and data centre operators, electric mobility infrastructure, and the broader deep electrification of the economy.
Shashank Sharma, Founder, Chairman & CEO, Sunsure Energy said, “The next generation of clean energy infrastructure will not be the one that works when the sun shines or the wind blows – it will be defined by its ability to deliver power when India needs it the most. At Sunsure Energy, we are pioneering this next generation of renewable energy infrastructure by building reliable, round-the-clock renewable power solutions that will power and decarbonize India’s industries, emerging AI and data centre demand, electric mobility, and the broader deep electrification of the economy. As we rapidly scale our RTC portfolio, partnering with Suzlon for wind energy was a natural choice, given their proven track record of reliably executing large-scale projects. Backed by their advanced technology platform and strong lifecycle O&M capabilities, we believe this partnership will play a pivotal role in accelerating the growth of our renewable energy portfolio and shaping India’s clean energy future.”
